Acts 9:32 – 35

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace.  It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord. Acts 9:31The church is at peaceThe work of the gospel is still being accomplished.People are getting saved – IT GREW IN NUMBERS.  People are turning their lives away from sin – LIVING IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD. As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the saints in Lydda.  There he found a man named Aeneas, a paralytic who had been bedridden for eight years.  “Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you.  Get up and take care of your mat.”  Acts 9:32 - 34Peter was stating a fact - JESUS CHRIST HEALS YOU!  Peter didn’t do was CONDEMN Aeneas for being sickPeter didn’t ACCUSE him for bringing this sickness on himself. We have hope in the midst of our frailties.  Jesus has paid the price for our healing. Four Cardinal Teachings Salvation through the blood of Jesus The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tonguesDivine HealingThe Second Coming of Christ He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you." Exodus 15:26An integral part of Jesus’ earthly ministry was that of healing.  Matthew 4:23-24Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them. Isaiah 35:4-6 "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution, he will come to save you." Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. 6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."  Matthew 11:4-6God the Father showed His approval of His Son Matthew 9:4-8 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? 6 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . ." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home."  7 And the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men. Jesus has authority over sickness and disease. Divine healing, along with other signs and miracles testified to the message of the gospel.  All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the LordDivine healing is a gift from God to a hurting world.  BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED. Is God against doctors and medicines?  God has granted us knowledge and wisdom in how to care for others.  Jesus healed in many different ways Peter knew that Jesus could heal.Peter shared this hope with Aeneas – Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals youPeter invited Aeneas to believe and trust Jesus for that healing. Get up and take care of your mat. Aeneas put action to his faith.  We too must put feet to our faith.  I believe that Jesus Christ is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever.  He healed in the past.  He can and does heal in the present.  He will bring complete healing to these broken bodies in the future.  I believe He is still a healer!
